I've been into tropical fish and aquariums for about 9 months now. I started with a 3 gallon tank with just a few danio Glofish and moved up to a 29 gallon tank. I figured it was about time to join a forum to discuss this hobby with others.

This is my 29 gallon tank. The glass is a little discolored since I bought it used, but it is otherwise a healthy and awesome tank.

Welcome to the forum Garth. I've had Glofish for two years now. Love them. Although I find that the original three color variations glow much better under my blue LEDs than the later varieties they created (blue and purple). But blue and purple have a better color pattern under normal light, I think. Have you seen the electric green tetras they have created? Those fish look kind of freaky with the bright green eyes!

I have seen them! They are definitely interesting, but I haven't taken the plunge and gotten any yet. I do agree with you that the orange, red, and green glofish are much brighter than the purple and blue. I currently only have a standard 24" T12 fluorescent fixture, but am looking to have an LED system custom built for me with both actinic and standard LEDs.

And thanks or the feedback, everyone! I just added two more long fin zebras today and am in the process of adding some more live plants. I'll be sure to share another picture soon once I do some more work.
