I can see your point but people seem to be having no problems with keeping marines with this new setup?

How long have people had success using this set up? Make sure that the success you are seeing is long term success. Be careful, a lot of times in hoping that something simple will be successful we cloud our own judgement and don't see the glaring negative aspects. Maybe this set up would work out great for a VERY simple marine tank set up, or you may be plagued with algae/cyano problems a couple of months down the road and end up giving up on marine aquariums out of frustration. People that have posted are people that have been in the hobby and are "in the know" make sure you are weighing all the pros and cons.

I am weighing all the pros and cons, and from this thread there are a lot of cons and from people i have spoken to there are a lot of pros so it seems about even to me.
