I'm a beginner and have had my tank for 3 weeks. I made the huge error of putting in the fish before doing a normal cycle, now I'm scared everyone has fin rot. I know my betta has it for sure...mostly. His tail had 2 pin sized holes and the edges are blackish red see through. My angel might have it? but she also might be stressed. I tried using melafix for a week but it doesn't seem to be working as far as I can tell. Is there another medication for fin rot? Everyone is only recommending melafix at the LFS, but opinions on here and other sites seem to say its bad to use. I also have 2 kuhli loaches and a dojo and I'm worried about certain medicines not being good for them. I have done two 5 gallon water changes in the past two days and am planning on doing at least one more (in case its the water condition). I might be able to get a testing kit tomorrow but I'm not sure, so at a loss here.
is there anything I can do? advice would be greatly appreciated, I am leaving for two weeks in 3 days and I don't know what to do
Also the tank is 29 gallons if that helps
