I started my Cory tank about a month ago. It’s a 40 gallon and we started with 5 Albino, 5 Sterbais and 5 Venezuelan Cory’s. Unfortunately the local fish store they were from had a bad outbreak of fin rot, causing me to lose most of the Venezuelans and sterbais. Luckily the albinos are doing great and seem to have accepted the remaining Venezuelan.

Currently there are 8-9 Cory’s in the tank along with 3 mystery snails. Currently I’m considering adding more Cory’s in a month or two, after ensuring the fin rot is completely wiped out, but I want to make sure everything has settled first.

I also have a platy tank which needs to be re-done. However I recently discovered snails in a tank where there should be no snails 😭 we have some stowaways. I’m not sure what exactly to do from here.

I have added assassin snails to my tanks harboring pest snails. This has taken care of the problem. My assassins are a beige and white stripe.

My problem with assassin snails is eventually you end up with 0 ram horn snails and a million assassin snails....

That has not been my experience. None of my tanks have more than three assassins going on three years now. And the assassins are prettier than black pest snails.

You got lucky and only have one sex - like mystery snails you need male and female for hank and pank.
