New Tank

Hi,

I am still on the lookout for a bigger tank, I came across this one on ebay 170411120770, they deliver for free, what does everyone think?
Do you reckon I would get an FX5 in cabinet, they told me if filter was 45cm wide it would fit in cabinet cupboard?

Thing is, it doesn't give a make, so I assume it's not well known, do you think it's worth the cash though as it is a 340l+ tank?

What do you plan on keeping in it? it's pretty tall at 26" so although it's got alot of water you would be able to fit more fish in say a 340 which is 20-24" tall and wider. Also in a tall tank like that planting it will require tongs as you'll struggle to reach the bottom , i struggle and mines 24" deep.

Its up to you but i personally dont like the measurements of it. looks nice though

Not sure what else to put in it, would move current stock of, 4 neon tetras, 2 golden barbs, 2 cherry barbs, 2 chinese algae eaters, 4 danios,2 corydoras and platy, into the tank. Not looking at putting real plants in, open to suggestions for extra stocking though. Can only go for a tank which is max 4ft wide, the gf won't allow me to get anything bigger, so in order to get the bigger volume the tank will have to be taller and bigger in depth, hence why I am looking at this tank on ebay. I am still looking around though before I make my mind up, it also gives the new FX5 I brought a chance to mature running in my current tank

do you want a new tank or have you looked at second hand ones, i got a 6.5ft tank and stand with an fx5 2 eheim 2028 and 3 fluval u4 off ebay for £260! there are lots of bargins out there and if your in the market for a new tank its well worth looking around and waiting also see if any lfs have ex display tanks :good:

i'd try getting one that go's back further , are you on a tight budget? quite a few people on here have 4x2x2 tanks works out at something like 450litre but gives you loads more options for stocking

although most of these are not made by big brands. keep your eye out on Aquarist classified they have loads of tanks on there. You can also try posidons palace, nd aquatics and aquariums ltd for tanks made to size.

Budget wise I have £350 - £400, I look on aquarist classified most days, I am open to used tanks as they do offer better value. Are they not expensive from places like nd aqauriums being custom made?
