New Tank?

setting up a fish tank, isn't something that happens overnight, to get one up and running and bacteria growing is a lot of work (compared to other pets). Just be forworned that stuff doesn't happen overnight when dealing with fish.

Well, you've got bettas, so you're already used to catering for the need of one species of fish; the only thing to get your head round is that each and every species of fish have their own need that may be as specific as the betta's.
Cycling the tank will save time in the long run: you wouldn't fancy doing 100% water changes on a 55 gallon, would you? Once the tank is cycled you can get away with doing 20% once a week, not too bad.
