OK I know this question has been asked a million times before on here, but I am really struggling to find a stock list to fill my new tank.

The tank is a very tall (3') hex which holds 180 litres. It is going in my living room and I would like it to be a colourful, active conversation piece. I would like a variety of fish so it's going to be a community tank. I normally keep the temp at 75 degrees and the water will have a pH of 7.5 ( going by my old tank ).

The restraints are 1) I want to have fish in all areas of the tank, 2) I don't want any aggressive fish, 3) I don't want anything that is particularly shy or nocturnal, 4) I don't want any particularly difficult or high maintenance fish, 5) I want to avoid Livebarers or any other fish that breed excessively, 6) All fish need to be compatible with the others in the tank. Plus the biggest proviso of all - they need to be fish that are readily available from LFS in the UK.

TOP
2 x Ballon Mollies = 5" (existing fish in old tank )
2 x Rainbows ..... maybe Boesemani or Praecox = 6"

MIDDLE
1 x Angel = 6"
7 x Tetras ...... maybe cardinals = 14"

BOTTOM
3 x Peppered Cory's = 7.5" (existing fish in old tank )

I would have liked a Pleco but I understand they are not very active and shy. I'm also avoiding Barbs because of their tendancy to nip. I really like my Peppered Cory's. If I got a different type of Cory, would both species mix in a single group or would I get 2 groups of 3 say?

Does anyone have any ideas for any other tank mates?

I'm not sure an angel on it's own or even with cardinals is a good idea, would cardinals not be in danger with the Angel?

Angels are known to eat neons, if the cardinals are big enough then they will be fine.
