Hi
I am saving for a new tank at the moment and want to plan what to go with it in terms of lighting and possible co2.... I'm looking at an nd Aquatic s tank 60x24x18 inch tropical planted I currently have a eheim 600 canister and use easycarbo in my 40x24x15 inch bow fronted tank. I want to make the switch to leds and need some help/guidance/suggestions as to what you guys use and would recommend? Should I be looking at a co2 unit?

Plants: giant vallis, amazon ozelot, nymphaea stellata, crypts, anubias and java ferns
Inhabitants: gymnogephagus australis, Columbian tetras, albino corys, bristlenose and ottos.

Thanks

Forgot to say it would need to be a closed top tank due to my cats, nd Aquatic s offer leds would they be sufficient for a planted tank? Also I like the idea of having sunrise/sunset/moonlight effects - good or gimmicky? Recommendations?

Looking to do the same, Sammy. Don't think LED are the smartest way to go. If you look at cost and performance...and you want depth of light (mine is going to be 72x30x27)

This is only from what I've been told - I am in the same position as you, and I want enough quality light for the plants to flourish. I have been looking at T5 (6 to 8 bulbs) kits and dual controllers. Probably looking at £400 + for great T5 lighting and I would think at least that for LED or more if you want full coverage.

If I'm wrong - I would love some advice too! But they way I see it, T5 lighting and some LED strips for night lights only and the effects you want.

Getting an ND Aquatic tank too.

Hey, at least you got a reply!
