Hi,

I've currently got a 60L tank with barbs etc in but my wife really wants some Angel fish and isn't very happy as I've told her we can't get any due to tank size/fish we've got now. I've seen a 95L tank thats about 30inches high, would this be suitable for 1-2 angel fish?

Cheers,
Andy

At 25 gallons I would say no. It is a tall tank, yes but it honestly sounds like there is no room to actually swim in it. I have a 30 gallon that is 24 inches tall, and it is only 2ft long and a foot deep, I can't imagine something with less gallons almost 8 inches higher having any real swimming room. Angels may get tall, but they also get wide, and they need a bigger tank I'm afraid.

Yeah you want something that is 3ft long and 18 inches tall it usually works out around 29 gallons :) I would say that is the minimum for some angels.

95 litres is only 20 imperial gallons and if it is a tall tank, it won't give them much swimming space.

You're looking at 3 foot long and about 18" high (and that's 18" of water, not the total height of the tank).

Anything else would be a massive compromise for the fish.

Your wife will understand if you tell her that the lives of the animals depend on you providing the right environment for them. She won't want to see them suffering.
