My Boyfriend Just Got Me A 10Gal Tank. I Had A 3Gal Tank Before. But I'm Doing A Fishless Cycle On This One. And It All Seemed To Be Going Good. But This Morning I Got Up An It's Cloudy Like. My Other Tank Never Did This So It Has Me A Little Worried. What Could Have caused the Cloudiness In The Water? Have I Maybe Done Something Wrong to Cause It? Will the Filter Clear out The Cloudiness In The Tank. Any Help Is Appreciated.

It's most likely a bacterial bloom; very common in new tanks and, as you have no fish in there, it's nothing to worry about; it'll clear up on it's own in a few days.

Now, please note I am in a very grumpy mood today, I'm not usually, but today I am.

First, welcome to the forum. There's a whole Wiki's worth of experience in fishkeeping on here, and what's more, they don't charge for dispensing their wisdom. A bacterial bloom is one of the most common things to happen in a new fish tank. If it bothers you, or takes a while to clear, simply change the water.

Now, I did mention I was feeling grumpy today, didn't I? Good. You don't need to start each word with a capital letter. Except for proper nouns. And words at the start of a sentence. Thank you. ;)

Just don't get me started on the incorrect use of the apostrophe.

Know What .. I'm not even going to say anything ... to your post I'm just going to not post anymore here i will find a better non grumpy place to pst.

I work at a newspaper .. classifieds.. there standard for ads is all upper letters for words. so its a habit.. i did google and all for it but i figured on a forum would be more reliable to ask people that have had fish tanks for a while.... being as i have not had mine that long even my 3gal one.

Classifieds? The worst place on Earth for incorrect use of the apostrophe. :shout:

Like I said, this place is a Godsend for people new to the hobby. It was for me. There are plenty of experts on here who will happily answer whatever questions you have from an unbiased point of view. Ask away. And I'll try not to be so grumpy in the future. :good:

Unless it's a title, as you'd find in a classified ad maybe, but not in normal paragraph text.

But yes, it's just a bacterial bloom, nothing to worry about :)

Do you have gravel substrate and if so did you clean it?? Made the mistake with my first time setting up and had to drain it, clean it and start over!! Bit of a pain with a 240 litre lol

Bacterial bloom by the sounds of it. Thats a good thing by the way, it usually means that the cycle is under way! Well done to you :D
