New Set-Up

Just bought a 3ft juwel bow-fronted tank (180 litres i think), a Eheim professional external filter and heater, tetratec air pump and a canopy light all for £40. (all 2nd hand and the tank is actually 3rd hand and a little scratched)And i have a few questions:

1. A little air seems to be trapped in the filter making it noisier than it should be, it's in my bedroom so i want it as quiet as possible. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? it is not a self priming filter and the only thing i can think is that it is at the same level as the tank and i've heard your supposed to keep them at a lower level?

2. Stocking suggestions? I'll be moving my 5 zebra danio, 2 otocinclus and 2 guppies into the larger tank and adding a few more of each but i wanted at least one larger fish? any suggestions?

Firemouth their lovely fish and would do well in a 3 foot or maybe blue acara nice size and pretty peaceful

I sometimes get trapped air in my 405, i just tilt it on it's side when it's running and it normally comes out. A gentle rock might help.

Also can anyone suggest some low-maintenance plants?
I have 2 amazon swords, a moss ball and 2 anubias nana in my current tank and i will transfer them over. I won't be injecting CO2 or fertilising so i know i'm limited... I was thinking java ferns and a few more moss balls?

I grow a few different types of vallis and cryptocoryne with no CO2 or fertiliser and they do very well.

Will i be better doing a complete fishless cycle, even though i will be putting my old internal filter in as well (mainly to provide some stronger flow for my danio's)

OR will i be ok simply putting my my existing fish in with the current internal filter, then leaving it a few weeks before adding new fish?

I used some filter media from my big tank to cycle my small tank. Only took 3-4 days.

I wouldn't add big fish in your tank with the zebra danios, or they may become fish food when the fish gets big. Really depends on what big means. Consider pearl gourami or 3 spot gourami, one of.

Not BIG big as i realise some of my smaller fish may become fish food. I was actually thinking about some kind of gourami,

i just wanted something a little larger as kind of a focal point in my bigger tank if you know what i mean?

I'm also worried about my oto's... I think just won't wash the plants when i move them as there's algae on them
