For those that don't venture into the planted section, i always put pics up in here as well. After a lot of messing with some Manzi wood, i seem to be happy with the new scape. The back of the tank will be filled in with stems, the stems are very small at present, so barely visible.

the hardscape was donated by UK aquascaper Mark Evans.

saw the title and thought "he's got bored already!".....glad you hadn't ripped it up and started again just yet.

Very nice. Has a touch of the 'fantasy' about it. Lovely twisted wood, the lines in it make it more like tree trunks than brances, adds to the perception of depth/size. And are those chilli rasbora?

cheers Zod!

The orange fish are ember tetras, great little fish. I had kept them before and Standbysetting has inspired me to get some more.

There is also some quite famous Hydrocotle (plant), in the tank. It came out of one of Takashi Amano's tanks in Japan.

when it does get going i'm going to add some in the planted donations thread.

And how much did it cost you to have that little piece of conversation starter in there???

It was kindly donated to me by Mark Evans and via George Farmer. So, it didn't cost me a penny. Thats why it will be passed on to people who can keep it alive! lol. I'll give you a shout :good:

Great looking aquarium. How long have you had it setup? Im sure it will look even better once all the plants have grown and filled out, keep us updated.

very generous.....although there are much more suitable members then I. I barely keep crypts alive!

Also, if I start loudly saying the names 'Amano' and 'Farmer' in my house, there will be no receptive ears to say "ooooh, how did you get your hands on that then?", simply more blank looks and mutterings of "that fish tank is turning into an obsession".

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Its been set up for a couple of days now :good:

That's why i posted it in the thread! When i told the wife, she said 'wow' in the most sarcastic voice. I'll still send you some through Zod, as a present for the little one! lol

Hi Ian, not been on the forum much lately but your tank is looking stunning mate, love it.

too kind, too kind!

Looks fantastic :good: I'm currently trying to re-arrange my manzanita wood as well...lol..I can't seem to get it looking right but I have 3 large separate pieces that I'm trying to sort out ATM. I bought some glue and I plan on attaching some phoenix and weeping moss to it, then in to the tank it goes!!

Cheers :good:

good luck with it! If you check out the journal in the planted, it took me a while to get the 'right look' with the Manzi. Great looking stuff though!
