Just got my new tank a few days ago (has existing filter media/gravel from old tank)

Thought I would share some pictures:

My Golden Sev called "Jaffa", my favourite fish :)

Female GT

Rainbows

Rainbow cichlid pair

Another Jaffa pose

Current stock:

Male golden Sev
Female GT
Female Nicaragua Cichlid
2x Rainbow cichlid
2x Rainbows
1x plec
2x small Satanoperca daemon (i think?)

Hoping to add one blue JD and thats it.

My only problems are that I find keeping plants difficult as they seem to die off quite fast.

Mostly happy with it though. What do you think?

lovely tank & fish. I have satanopeca daemons, they are gorgous.

What lighting do you have?
What plants?
CO2?
Ferts?

Nice looking fish tho, loving the sev.

Those rainbowfish look in great shape. Are they one of the Splendidas? Very deep bodied and lots of colour, very impressive. How old are they?

Thanks for the comments guys.

-The lighting is just 4 T8 tubes, 2 Warm coloured and 2 natural coloured.
-The plants are mostly Cabomba's.
-No i don't add CO2 atm.
-I use tetrapond.

Thanks, I don't know how old they are (largest one is 6"-7"), they were brought into my LFS by someone and only got them recently, they're really just large dithers but they do have fantastic colour. I don't think they are splendidas, I think they are Boeseman.

They must be a good few years old to have reached that size. They're not Boesmans, they're very nice though, as is your tank.

you're right they arn't boesmans (the shape is just similar to a boesman male but obviously these are much bigger). I don't know what they are exactly then, I guess they must be old (were only £20 for the 2), I think they're both males but they seem ok together.

Looks nice though im gussing the plants are new since sevs and rainbow cichlids will both treat them as their personal salad bowl.

We have an agreement that if I buy them a bag of salad from tesco every other day, then they don't touch my plants :)

Im really jealous of your Gold Severum, now I really want one! :X :p
And nice tank

Good luck with that

Btw do you ever feed peas? When I had rainbow cichlids they would go mad for them.
