Yeah it is Datnioides microlepis, I know that, but my friend has one and her's is yellow not white.

and I dont blame you for not try to spell undecri.... summit, but that was the the other species BAS had had in stock, but unfortunately had sold out :(

and apparently there has been some debate about whether or not pulcher and micropelis are different species, or just a colour morph (the number of stripes).

no debate IT come from indonsia ST come from thialand they have diffrent body shap and the body stripes and tail starites are diffrent

IT also getbigger that ST

IT grow to 24inch ST about 18inch

ST color up better than IT as IT are the hardest tiger to get stable

you will not see any small ST for sale as they are banned from export from thialand

ah right, some good info. So I suppose its like most fish some have brighter colours than some others

as with most fish their are diffrent color varaints

with IT they are white, yellow and slight gold
with ST they are white yellow gold and gold but with a red tinge to it

with IT the whiter morph seam to be more stable and color up better than the gold or yellow morph which normally turn black or totally washed out

to be truthfull i would be happy if i had an IT that was white as chances are it will color up nice most of the time :good:

Thanks for all the advice, lets hope he does really well then.
I will have to borrow my dad's SLR and see if i can get some decent pics, and maybe try harder to clean the glass
