I got a nice order from Bryan Tuesday morning.
You can't imagine how much I hate shipping!!!!!!
I wasn't clear, so Bryan shipped them early. I got them on guaranteed by 10:30 AM overnight Fed Ex. I had to work late that morning as we are always short staffed. I emailed Bryan and told him I had left a note to just leave the delivery at the door. He wrote back, "They won't do it!" So as usual with a delivery pending, I was in panic mode at 7:30 nam at work. I was ready with the accommodations, having put the Bismark frontosas out on consignment, so I only needed to move the Mobas from the 50 usg, remove the Cichlid sand, drain and refill the tank when I got home from work. (I transfered about 15 usg of water from another Cory tank and added some peat pellets to the filter just to be sure.) But now the prospects were good that they would take the fish back to the warehouse until Wednesday. The temps are exceeding 100 degrees here.
I called Fed Ex to tell them to leave the fish. They said the shipper had to call. So I emailed Bryan to call them, which he did. The last word I got at 7:30 am was it was taken care of. I went on and worked my overtime relieved.
When I got home there was only a "Fed Ex tried to deliver" notice on the door but no box of fish. I called Fed Ex in a panic! They said we are working on it, and as soon as we can get the driver, we will send him back with the delivery. Apparantly they put Bryan through the mill, making him fax a letter on his letter head, etc. By then the delivery guy had gone without his special instructions. Bryan put on his very effective "We will do it my way!" hat, and they got on it. A bit later they called, and then the delivery man brought my precious box.
I got:
12 sp Pulcher aka Super Schwartzi
8 caudimaculatus
5 green neon lasers
4 Brochis splendens
3 Weitzmani
The 4 Brochis join 5 that I have; the 8 caudimaculatus join a no longer lonely little fella; the 6 green neon lasers join 6 previously purchased green lasers; the Weitzmani plan to be joined by the 5 from Frank.
I love herds of Corys. The Schwartzi and Weitzmani went in the new tank, so they did not get a welcoming party and are a little startled and shy. The lasers and Caudimaculatus joined a thriving tank and are dancing the welcome to the neighborhood dance. I was quite taken with the caudimaculatus dance.
The Brochis are also settled in an established tank and looking quite at home.
When watching them briefly this morning, I saw a Cory juvie dash back under a log! I only got a glimpse, but it did not look stebai, melanotaneaia, or Brochis. I think a duplicaris escapee from the net. Cheeky fellow!
So after much complaining and procrastinating I will get pics.
