HAI and welcome. I'm pretty new as well :p What tanks do you have? and with what stock? :)

I am into this fish hobby 8 yrs now, thus the "multiple tank habit..." I have a 45 gal tank of lg and sm goldfish, a 55 gal of 3 koi, a beautiful male green terror cichlid, a blood parrot cichlid, an ob peacock, a vestus cichlid, an oscar, a crown royal betta, an oxylotl, a 70 gal with all my bottom catfishes/plecos/yoyos/clown loaches/rosaline sharks, etc., and another tank of the smaller fish: guppies & babies, ghost shrimp, hillstream loaches, ottocinclus', a smaller pleco, a twig catfish, and the coolest is the glass eel that lives under the gravel and keeps his head out and watches.. he's about 13" long and comes out and swims around when the room is quiet. I have 2 55 gal tanks that I'll be switching out the smaller tanks with, that's an ongoing project. It sounds like I have alot, and I do, but it's been a progression through the yrs and taking over others' "throw-aways". I self-educate myself and am always learning and that is why I like to meet new fish friends.. my friends aren't into fish. What do you have? What would you like to have? Thanks for showing an interest in my fish, and let me know if I can ever help you with yours...

Well that is quite a collection you have there :p have only got a little 10 gallon at the minute with some guppys in, thinking of picking up either a pleco or a few shrip. I'll be upgrading soon to a 120litre so the pleco would be fine I think :p

Wanting the 120 to be a community tank not sure with what though yet and will turn my 10 gallon into a beta tank :)

Platys are colorful, ottocinclus are like little plecos that suck on the glass wall, cory catfish are great bottom fish, the ghost shrimp are hard to see, but are cool to watch them. Kooli loaches stay small. Have your guppies had babies? I keep my babies in a breeder net so the others don't eat them up till they grow bigger. The betta needs to be in a tank by itself, thus the name "chinese fighting fish"... Enjoy the hobby and you'll have multiple tanks about your house, too!! :hyper:

Haha, nooooo no babies :p Got 2 young females at the moment, getting 2 more young females on saturday, don't want no babies, Haven't got the space for them haha xD and yahhh, I just like bettas due to their colour, shape of fins and everything :p

Did you know that guppies can hold their sperm back until the water conditions are just right? So, they could have mated and just not surprised you till a later date... Interesting, huh. What do you have in your tank -- plastic or live plants? Ornaments? What size/kind of filter do you use? The bettas truly are a colorful fish.. I have mine in a 5 gal tank in my kitchen, next to the toaster. His name is Rodney and I talk to him often. I grew planted bulbs so he has live plants to "hang out in".. He's dark blue-green w/ alittle bit of red and has that fanned-tail. What color gravel is in your tank?

enjoy your guppies...

where abouts did you get the glass eel from? and how much?

The glass eel was @ the fish store and was a small 3" wiggly white spaghetti-looking thing. I asked how big it would get and they said not big. I bought "scout" because he was unusual and was very active. This was about 5 yrs ago. He hid under the gravel and just grew and grew.. I asked how big will he get? They said, not bigger than a pencil, well, hes 13 inches and as wide as my fingers. The fish store asked if I was missing any smaller fish, as he's a meat-eater.. never did. I see his head come out 4'' to grab pellets or peas, and around 11 am when the room is quiet, he comes out of the gravel and swims around like a snake. I've never seen another like him at the fish stores. I always dig him up when company comes over to show him off.

Yahh, Did a lot of looking into them :p Which is why I bought them as young guppys, theyre still pretty small so I'm kinda going with the hope that they were too young to mate when I bought them.

Plastic plants, First tank, didnt have a clue how to handle live ones so just went with that xD Filter is... not a clue :3 its the one that came with the AquaStart 320.. Got some bright ornaments in there, one is like... cave/rock formation and the other is a kinda tree stump thing. I got Dark brown gravel which brings out the colour of the stuff in there even more

Is that filter for a 10 gal?/20 gal? Do you have any other pets? I have 3 cats, a dog, an outdoor dwarf rabbit and a teddy bear hamster(the kind with the long hippie-hair..). Fish4962

Rabbits can use a litterbox indoors.. I would worry about the chewing on the carpet and elect. cords.. ours is in a wooden hutch overnite and daytime, goes in a dog kennel to run around and we can go inside and sit on a milk crate and visit with him. He has a box and hay on the ground. We're having 3 weeks of rain, so he's had to stay in his hutch on the down-pour days. What kind of dog do you have? Ours is a 14 yr old little white lab, Jesse.
