New in Bremerton, WA

[Booboo puppy]

Hi. I'm starting up a 40 gallon freshwater tank after taking a break of several years. The last time it was set up, I had only angel fish in it. I lost them all when the power went out for several days during the winter. I currently have two adult platties and 8 babies--I think they are the orange Mickey Mouse variety (I also had a yellow platty that died around the same time as the babies appeared). They've survived for several weeks now, so I am hopeful that they will reach maturity.

We have a chihuahua named Lobo, a large Siamese mix cat named Phoebe, and a small tortie/calico cat named Princess Jade. Since we are empty nesters, they are all appropriately spoilt.

In addition to our pets, we also have three sons, three wonderful daughters-in-law, one daughter, and two grand daughters with another one due in the next three weeks or so.

I was waiting until the babies were bigger before I added more fish to the tank, but last night I found one itty-bitty baby. He didn't show up for roll call this morning, but maybe he's hiding...

Fish fry are usually food for the parents, sounds bad, but its true, some get through, and I am sure some will eventually . Yours maybe hiding, I have thought several times that a fish had gone, only for it to show up several days later.

Itty-bitty fishie is still with us after all--but just one.
