Hi We just got to new gouramis. I know for def one is a male dwarf (the blue type) The other was sold as a female, I just wanted to check it is female rather than a smaller male. Thanks guys

The pics arent great, they wouldnt stay still, can get some from my fiances better camera if needed.

Thanks

its not letting me attach the pics, how do you do it I dont remember?

Because of the angle, I can't be completely certain but it does look like a female.

BTW, you know you'll probably have trouble if you are planning on keeping them as a pair? I'd get another female at least (before they settle in though!)

Never listen to LFS advice! lol That's typical - they are always saying that. The problem is that the male will get interested in the female as the settle in and mature. He'll be chasing her constantly and that's stressful for the female. Adding another would mean he has to devide his attention - making it less stressful for both. Unfortunately people seem to be under the impression that gouramies 'pair up' like cichlids do - they don't! They simply breed with whoever is available.

thank you, thats what I thought from reading on here, I will go get another female if possible
