Thought I would announce my new job inside the trade.

I'ved been working in a LFS for 3.5 years now and It's pretty good but my boss pays peanuts and treats his staff like summit you would scrap off your shoe...

So couple weeks ago I asked one of our suppliers at work if they needed a new guy...and they did! :D I went to him for a litle interview a few days later and bob ya uncle I have a new job.

The new job is at a tropical fish wholesaler, only draw backs to the job are early starts and 100 mile a day travelling. Mon/Tuesday I work 8-5 and Wed, Thrus, Fri I work from 5am-2pm with sometimes starting at 4am if there's alot of orders.

It's so much better than working in a shop though, no offence meant but customers are complete and utter ****!

New job, I just do all the same kind of jobs but without customers on me back.

So all within 2 weeks I got peed off with my old job, found a new job and started work at my new job.

congratulations on your new job, hope you enjoy it :)

will cost about 40 quid a week, less if i ease off the go pedal! I have a tdi golf with 6 spd gearbox so very economical.

100 miles a day won't be that bad, especially with those hours. Load the multichanger up and enjoy your tunes.

Congratulations Paul.

This is the sort of route I want to go down! Like yourself, i've worked/am working in a LFS for a while now and love the tank care side of things just not the customers! George Farmer and Ghent_3rd excluded! Sounds like a great job!

I'm happy where I am for the time being but who knows where the future will take me!

Well their will still probably be customers.. Just a different type :)

Obviously still customers otherwise there wouldn't be a business! But I mean the public, wont get our customers asking if they can put nemo in there goldfish bowl with 10 goldfish.

Ohhhh thanks gilaesther I'll look into that.

Well this in my first week completed, starting to feel the lack of sleep now but thats what the weekend is for!

Thanks all!

Hope you enjoying it, i do aquatic maintenance and i got 2-3 4 am starts a week and do around 1000- 1200 miles a week so enjoy

Congratulations! I don't envy you the commute, but it's always nice to hear when someone is moving up in the world. :good:

I don't know what your government is like over there, but can you get a tax deduction for the gas you use to get to and from work?
Basically, no. Most people in the UK are on PAYE (Pay As You Earn) meaning you pay tax at source and don't fill in tax returns and such.

Only benefits you would get for petrol would be if you use the car for a business (that you run, be it sole trader, partnership or limited liability) and then you could claim the fuel is an overhead and not pay tax on money spent on said fuel.
