ok, do you have a filter, heater and what are the levels of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

yes i have filter and heater all my levels are fine so the man in the shop told me just found a dead fish could this be the problem??

ah, well depends when the poor thing passed on, it MAY be the problem, can u do an ammonia, nitrite and nitrate test now? the dead fish may be the reason. but then why did it die? im no expert ( i do no my stuff btw!) so one expert will comment soon.

going to get test kit soon as just been taking my water to local fish shop and think the man is a bit pushy he just seams to want my money so might go to another shop ....

yh, shop's sometimes just want money and have no care in your fish, ive always found testing the water yourself the most effective way, but thats me

How long had your tank been set up before you put the fish in. what size is the tank and what fish did you have in it. What colour is the water.

thanks 4 your input my filter is a interpet power filter with bubble function just turned bubble func on dont no if it will help my heat is 25 degrees is this corect??? thanks again

hi littlemonkey had my tank set up for a week and a half before i put fish in had water tested every 3 days...its a 50l tank got 2 mollies and 2 guppies and did have a black mollie but he died the water is cloudy i can see back of the tank but murky

firstly, 25 degress C is fine, thats good that you left it for a week and a bit but has it cycled? oh, and any luck with the test? are the other fish behaving ok or oddly and are they eating?

the other fish are fine eating bright in colour my wife has just took some water to another shop to get checked and to get a tes so i can allso do a test

my water has tested normal so the man at the shop said no need to buy test he said to do a half water change should i or not i think i should have learnt a bit more befor buying my set up

Sounds like your tank isn't cycled. If it's white cloudy it may well be bacterial bloom. I would do a large water change remember to use de-chlor. There will be others on here with further advice. Good luck and dont rely on the LFS for acurate readings of your water, get a test kit.
