Hello

I have added some new fish and plants to my 90litre tank, the filters are coping well with the extra fish. I brought 6 harlequin tetras and 1 BN catfish. I did have the 3 danios in there but ive removed them to my 15litre tank as i'm not too sure whats wrong with them, im taking them back to the lfs as im not happy they were healthy from the start.

My tank is quite heavily planted now and has some interesting bog wood pieces ive created some little caves and tunnels for them to explore. Im loving these little fish very much as they are good to watch.

Ive brought some algae waffers but the bn catfish has not found where it is yet ive put one in.

My other fish im planning on would be

6 Lemon tetras or 6 SPOTTED BLUE EYE *PSEUDOMUGIL GERTRUDAE* RAINBOWFISH
Apistogramma Cacatuoides M/F OR Adult Wild Pair Apistogramma Baenschi INKA 50 ** Peru
6 leapord corydoras

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated as to which fish to purchase next after a few weeks have gone by and my current fish have settled in.

I think the shoal of Lemons might be a bit large for your tank given the rasboras and others already there or planned. Lemons can be quite beautiful but I've always found them to be potentially nippy and aggressive.

Im a fan of Barbs. Steer clear of the tiger and green tigers as they are a bit more aggressive, but others would look good in a small shoal

The first thought that jumps into my head is...

Given you are worried about the health of your Danios, presumeably you striped the 90l down completely and sterilised everything that was going to be put back in there for your new fish? If not, you have just potentially passed on your Danios' unknown illness onto the new fish, if it was a contagious disease...

I'm forgetful at times... Can you remind me and others about the "cycling" status of the 90l and how many days of zero readings for ammonia and nitrite you have had, please?

Now depending on the plants you have, they could use any ammonia produced by the Harlequin Tetras Rasboras and Bristlenose Plec, along with the relatively safe nitrates (they would need to be medium-fast growing plants to have an appreciable effect at soaking up the toxins, which often means using "under-soil" fertilisers; daily fertilisers; a carbon source like "Easycarbo" or a carbon dioxide system; ~2 watts lighting per imperial gallon (although T5 can be fine at ~1.5). Plants are not known to consume nitrites, the second most toxic substance we test for, which needs to be either consumed by bacteria or removed by substantial water changes.

Hello I did not strip down down tank, but chaged the water and clean filters in old tank water. I have planted tank so didnt want to disturb plants. My cycling stats have been.

4 days of stable Ammonia 0, Nitites 0, Nitates 5
added new fish and removed danios
3 DAYS Ammonia 0, Nitites 0, Nitates 5
1day Ammonia 0, Nitites trace, Nitrates 10
next dayAmmonia 1.2, nitites 0, nitiates 10 Added 10ml of TN+ think this gave me wonky reading for ammonia.
50% water change twice
Next day Ammonia 0, Nitites 0, Nitates 10
today Ammonia 0, nitites 0

i have in my tank
hygrophila polysperma
5 amazon swords
10 java fern
red tiger lily
tall hair grass
flame moss
ricci on two wire pads
floatin plants

2.5wpg, columbo undersubstrate, easy carbo added daily, TN+ added daily.

Im having couple of reading with Ammonia trace and nitite 0.3 yesterday, im doing 10% water chnge 2x daily and keeping water results at 0.

I also brought 6 new plants yesterday 4 of which are fast growing types, is i only kept 3 cory's would i be able to fit pair of steel blue killifish into my aquaruim.
