Today i got my hands on 6 Danio Tinwini and the last 3 Brachydanio Nigrofasciata. I wanted something different from zebra danios and smaller. Im considering getting a few more Tinwini's while they have them in stock.
I would certainly like to attempt to breed them in the future so i might buy some RO water
Its extremely difficult to get a picture these speedy nano fish.
They are beautiful ❤️
They will look good with my cpds

How hard is your water?

I bred some new arrival Brachydanio kyathit years ago (when they were extreme rarities, just found and described), and started with my 140ppm tap. That's well above the range Seriously Fish suggests, but at that time, I had no habitat info. The fish bred easily and in adequate numbers, with no doctoring of the water.

From the looks of tinwini, I would try them as I tried kyathit, with a standard zebrafish set up.

My water is Moderately hard. 10.08g. I will probably have to mix 50/50 if i fail with my water. . I nearly brought Poropanchax luxophthalmus instead of the Nigrofasciata.
I much prefer breeding my own fish.

Brachydanio nigrofasciata is a favorite of mine. They were impossible to get for many years because of the political turmoil in Myanmar (Burma). Glad they're back.

I believe i have about 4 fry now. I say 90% chance and 10% chance being CPD. Very pleased with that. I wasn't sure what sex my trio were. My water is Moderately hard. I'm hoping I can breed gold ring danios in my water. It saves me messing with water parameters.

Look at the anal fin. Males will have a gold-brown edging and the fin itself will have a yellowish cast when the light strikes it. Females have a clear anal with a white-ish edging.
They move very quick but will look out for that. I was going by belly size. Think I might have two females and one male. They do feed from the top but spend most of the time near the bottom. They are lovely fish. Personally I think the gold ring danios have the edge over them in terms of schooling behavior and markings.
Both are good additions to have.

Belly size is the time honored way of determining gender for all danios. The anal fin color dimporhism is an under-reported but reliable indicator. When your 4 juves gain size and join the school it will be a lovely sight.
