I put an order in for 3 discus from Hans. He sells the German bred Stendkers to us in the USA. I have been wanted
some of him fish since I started keeping discus. I put my dog down and thought it was a good idea to buy some new fish to help with the loss. I know that might sound weird.

I am traking them and they are now at the Main FedEx airport and will be here at Noon tomorrow. I can't wait. I'm also going to check out a new fish store once I get the new fish all set up. I also am sending the angels off the their new home later tomorrow. It's going to be a fun fishy day for me.

I will post photos when I get them.

I'm just excited and had to share.. :hyper:

Sad about Pepper... wish you well on that grieving process.
And yes, nothing wrong with a bit of distraction or, thinking differently, it could be a way of honoring her brilliant life with a new venture that includes life, just another sort.

Have a superb day today.

Can't wait to see your pictures.

Karin

I hope they arrive nice and healthy, it will be great to see some photos! :good:

The fish are in Reno that's pretty close.. They will be at noon. :hyper:

Thanks Karin.

I got them early. young fish travel so well when packed right. These little guys look great. I did not put them in QT like most would do. I know they came from a first class discus retail place. I even got a call from Hans him self to see if they were ok and if I was happy. Very cool of him I think. It shows he really cares. The fish were in great shape they are nice and round. I think the Snakeskin will be the best.

They looked washed out right now from the long ride cross country. They are getting use to the new surroundings. I don't think they have even been in a tank that had wood and sand. They come from barebottom tanks.

Here are some photos. I can not wait to see how these guy grow and color up. They are natural never been given hormones. So these guys will change a lot over time.

Blue Snakeskin This little guy kept trying to jump out of the bag. He fell in a bucket when I was tipping out water from the bag.

I need to get a good one of the Blue turq maybe later. Off to my next fish adventure of the day.

They already look great, I can't imagine how stunning they're going to be once they've settled down...

It looks like you also had a cute little helper to lend a hand unpacking. :D

Sorry about your dog, I've been there a couple of times myself and it's not nice.

That first pic confused me a bit. I was thinking is that a really huge tank or a really small armchair?

Nice discus :good:

Lol crazy lil guy.

They look great, convinced me I now want Discus! :good: Yours are tank-bred right?

Lol that funny that the little chair made you think I had a huge tank. :)

yes the new ones are German bred. I don't have any wilds yet.... Some day I would like to turn the 100gal into a wild discus tank.

Well looks like the old discus are not bothering the new guys at all. The angel fish are gone. The discus look less stressed with then gone. They have to work out the pecking order. The young ones know they are the new guys and stay out of the way.

Discus are great fish so Many differant ones to pick from and they can live all
together. They are so much fun to watch grow. The colors change so much.

Congrats on the new Discus!! Looking stunning right out of the box!!

Sorry to hear about your dog :(

On a positive note you wont be disappointed with Hans' fish!

they have not taken any food yet . They showed interest. I need to set up the 20gal for them I think so I can make sure they get on the right track.

Its been 2 days. They are adjusted they eat and even come up to my hand for feeding time. they know their place in the pecking order and everyone seems to get along well. The brilliant blue was the first to eat. Then the snakeskin and the Alenquer is getting use to the new food.

Here they are today. I can't wait to see how they grow. I'm going to be back to doing more WC for these guys. I don't want to mess them up.

Alenquer. Great eye size. The shape is not perfect. The Top where it meets the fin should be perfectly round.

Here is a great photo to show the good quality Blue snakeskin to my Reject stunted Red snakeskin from the LFS. Notice the Red face is not really in proportion.
