New Filter & Tank Advice

The M 150 is about 4 months old.
It works fine except for the clicking sounds, if I moved it the clicking sound stops for a while but then start again.

Today I have turned the 206 off & took the top off and checked the impeller, pulled it out and made sure nothing was around it & re primed until the primer was hard to move.

I turned it on and a lot of bubbles came out, you can still here the impeller turning but not as loud.. I guess I've just got a noisy one and its going to take time to settle in & as long its keeping the water clear I am happy.

The fish seem happy.

Well its been 4 days since doing this and there's no signs of ammonia or nitrite.

The water is that clear it looks like there's no water in the tank :D & the Fluval E series heater has settled down.

How often do you clean external filters?

I've also been contacting the company I bought the 206 from and they've told me to inspect the impeller magnet to see if there's any damage to it & to let them know, so I will do that this weekend but it isn't as loud now.

I've also found 2 baby Platies :D

Cool, let us know how the fry get on! I clean my filter every month or so, just squeeze the sponges out I've just replaced the carbon sachet and filter floss. I've had the filter quite a while now. Everything else is still in it's original state though. I rinse out the impeller every so often but not religiously. In all honesty it doesn't really need such a vigorous cleaning routine but I like to be thorough. The cleaning routine depends on how messy your tank can get. :good:

The fry are still alive and got a lot bigger already.

Some pics of the Platies :D
