I got three female guppies today and put them in a quarantine tank. And I just noticed that one of them, the very obviously pregnant one, has a potential birth defect. Her top fin isn’t centered on her back. Rather, it seems to be growing out of her side instead.
What should I do? Could it just be her pregnancy throwing her outta whack? Should I return her? I’d really rather avoid euthanizing her. If it IS a birth defect, I’ll probably not breed her (I keep males and females separated except when breeding) after she gives birth to her current fry (I have a fry tank so her being pregnant was nbd) and after she gets the fry outta her system in who knows how many months, but still let her live out her life and keep a close eye on the developing fry.

her spine isn’t bent, the picture is just of her turning. On the pictures she’s the one at the top. With the purple top fin and orange tail.

Just a genetic deformity. Either keep her or return her. It's unlikely to be a problem for her because she is an adult. She might pass the defect onto her young so monitor them for it.
