Hi

i just brought a glass ceramic diffuser off aquaessentials and i think its faulty! I tried it on my nutrfin kit and no bubbles so I tried blowing through it and it seems solid! also tried an air pump nd that dint work the only way i can get it to fizz is suckin on it and it fizzes in reverse so is it a naff one? or do they require quite a bit of pressure?

Im gettin my co2 cannister soon so ill be using pressurised soon just wanted to know weather i should send this back.

Try cleaning it, soak it in 50% bleach 50% water for a couple of hours then wash it well after. There won't be enough pressure from a nutrafin kit for it to work aswell because of the amount produced, with fermentation kits the best diffusers to use are the bubble ladders or an infinity diffuser (both available from AE) where little pressure is produced.

Hi mate.

You wont be able to blow through the diffuser and an air pump will not give enough pressure. Its does take a while for the pressure to build up. Mine take sometimes an hour depending on the mix.

I use a DIY 2ltr bottle system and that produces enough pressure.

Another thing is even if you have the slightest leak anywhere it wont work as well.

Hope this helps a little.

Ceramic diffusors are OK with Nutrafins but it depends on the diffusor as they are all made for different sized tanks and therefore different pressures.

Small 100Ltr tank ones should just about work with 1 Nutrafin. With the yeast kits is always best just to get a Nano one as they will require less pressure.
