I recently purchased a 45 gallon tank. I am really interested in purchasing some angelfish but Im just curious about the best way to get this tank started. What are some compatible fish and what type of fish should I start with?
Thanks in advance for answers

id start with a fishless cycle if it was my tank. much easier than starting with fish. especially with a tank that size

Yes, I agree. I think the fishless cycle is much safer than the nitrogen cycle.

Are you asking what type of tropical fish you would like to start off with? Well, Angels are well-known to be a bully to smaller fish, and will eat whatever kinda of fish that fits it their mouths. I'd just get a school of angels.

I've already done a fishless cycle I just didn't know what fish I could put with the angelfish and which I should add first. Sorry I probably should have explained that better.

I have some with rummynose tetras and yoyo loaches, the angels aren't aggressive to either (at the moment). Occasionally one will chase the othet but the more aggressive one has a damaged fin so can't chase very effectively and never does any damage... But never pays attention to the other species.

If you get a group of small angels at the same time as the tetras, by the time the angels are big enough to eat them, the tetras will be too big Ro eat.
