They are SO cute!! I'm not entirely sure what type they are ... the female is a light yellowy colour with some random dark stripes and the male is a grey sort of colour with a flame red and orange tail :D
They're so lovely! Annoying they're in an unmarked tank so not sure what type they are, but they are SO pretty! ^^
I got a male and a female so hoping they'll breed at some point, but they are still so dinky? Anyone know how quicklyish they grow? :)

Thanks!

Sound like cacatuoides, very nice, used to have some myself.

I've looked at some pictures and i think you're right - thanks :)

They dont get all that big, roughly 6cm. I love them to but can not have them in my current tank so am looking at getting a tank especially for them lol.

Awesome, thanks :) You should! They are so cute and are showing me their own little personalities already :)

How long you had them for? Did you just get 1 male and 1 female? The male does get slightly bigger btw. When I first get into fish keeping they were one of the fish I always wanted but could never find them at lfs, but in the last year a really good lfs has opened and always has fish I'v never seen and he got some in recently, I cant stop having a look at them when I go in for my weekly live food. There also known as cockatoo dwarf cichlids. Let me know if they start breeding.

See if you can find another female, they do better in little groups of a male and 2 or 3 females. The females set up a little territory each and he keeps them in check :)

Apistogramma cacatuoides are nice fish to keep if your staring off i would advise a pair, they peacfull unless they start to breed and keeping them in a harem can cuase problems which you can easily miss if your just getting into it or dont have the tank space. I have had females fight to the death in a harem even with all their need meet and then some
Here is some of mine did they look like these?

BigbruiserAl, are they easy to breed? What size tank you got them in and any tank mates?

Still not sure how to do the whole quote box thingy lol.

I have pretty much tryed them in every tank.

1 pair in a 70L on their own, harem in 220L and a few pairs in a community 350l with neaons, cardinals, congo tetra,BN plec and my Harlequin Rasboras. As you can see there very easy going fish.
