New 5 gallon hexagon tank started cycling for a Betta fish

I added 3 more fancy guppies to my cycling tank today, love those colorful tails they have. The LFS gave me a free female along with my purchase of the m/f pair. Did the levels drop after the water change?

that was good of them to give you another very nice.

I don't know if they dropped i'm just doing daily 40% water changes to make sure they can cope and checking my waters every friday.

Sorry i've not been on for a while had things busy this end.

My hexagon tank hit it's 7th week today and reading are pH 7.6, ammonia & nitrite 0ppm and nitrate between 10-20ppm.

I purchased a Super delta tail betta a couple of weeks back in different shades of blue/ white and odd bits of red and he loves his pellets besides mini bug bites.

@JuiceBox52 i read they get lonely and like entertainment, so brought a pingpong ball no good, then tried a mirror not much look, so hubby found a car indicator light and he was dead inquisitive with it.

I do but because he's in the bedroom i have to go into him and when i say leo is little gill fins go like crazy and they pick up quick because when i drop a pellet in if i point up with my finger he goes for it.
My son in law as put 3 females with a right assortment of cold and tropical fish and if you saw it it's like a traffic jam, he's got nearly 40 fish in my old 22 gallon :rofl:

the ammount of times i've told him to stop and he just carries on, he's added an heater but does no testing of water as he's to tight to by a test kit.
