Hey everyone! So the tank that used to be kroll's is empty...the planted 5.5 gallon...it has been empty for a long time...I've been hunting for a betta that looked like he could use some tlc and one that was responsive to what was going on outside his cup and didn't freak out and get all skiddish when ipicked up his cup or looked at him...one that didn't just flare at everything all the time...well...I finally found one! Another king betta, surprise suprise! The only problem is.....well....I'm not at home...imin California...and we have a 16 hour drive tomorrow...but I couldn't leave him because I've been looking for one like him for a while now and they aren't very easy to find...I couldn't not take him....So. I bought one of those pet keepers (because anything was better than his tiny disgusting cup, bought some water conditioner, betta food...and we are ready to go! (all the extra stuff was actuall my moms idea! I thought that was pretty neat!) anyway, when I get home tomorrow, I am going to do a large water change on my ten gallon to get rid of the rest of the saltin there, move my Pygmy cories back into it from the 5.5 gallon betta tank, do a large water change clean out on the betta tank and put the betta in his new home...
(a lot of work for the time we are going to get home...it's going to be very very late considering the drive we have ahead of us!)
Now that this betta won't be able to jump out of this tank..*cough cough...kroll*...I am planning on doing a journal on him, showing how much his colors and finnage improve with him being in a healthy tank over time...I already took a picture on my phone for day 1 (because I don't have the good camera with me) and I would upload it, but I am on the iPad...no computer to work with up here in the country
this betta really has potential to be beautiful...and hopefully with a decent size tank, live food...well frozen live food hah, clean water, real plants, filter, heater, and just an overall better environment, he will become so
and I should have a name for him soon
Thanks for reading! And keep an eye out for a new betta journal
Meg
