Well this or that i came across this nifty thing on amazon:

image is from an amazon review (1* for leaking but that is fixable); there are a bunch of htese glass vases from 7x4x4 to over 48 x 4 x 4 (can't find one taller than 4); they would be nifty with plants hanging out of them like pothos or nicer and a couple of neon or guppies - of course you would want one that doesn't leak

Here is one that is a bit short but 6 inch high:

That's a long piece of glass going through shipping. Good luck.
It would look cool on a mantle, or in a bay window.

can always check the local store; or make your own. It is more of the idea then acquisition.

I like the idea, I have thought for some setups having a 48 inch tank that was 10 to 14" tall would make a nice setup for a flowing emergent fish setup with emergent marginal plants. I could see a whole lot of cories swimming between reed plants, or even emergent amazon swords. It would be a easier to build because you don't have near the pressure you would have for a full height tank.
