Need Stock Ideas For A 125 Litre

hey , got my self an external filter (fluval 305)
and got a juewl 120 rekord tank all lit up etc
got some argos play sand in (very well washed out and around 1.5 inches deep)
i know iv gotta get the tank cycled first and that i will be dooing , but i wanna start thinking about decor etc

what sorta plants ? real or plastic
what should i be filling with , i really want a nice community tank full of colour ,

i know i want a black ghost knife fish and a blue lobster but after that im stuck

was thinking

1 x blue lobster
1 x knife fish
1 x reed fish
2 x red gouramis

what do u think ?

the tank is 100cm long 31cm wide 41 cm tall

so far iv got a plastic wooden thing that i had for my crab last time im hoping to replace that with bogwood

I don't think your tank is anywhere near big enough for some of the fish you have mentioned.

Natalie is right.

Reed fish, also known as rope fish need 400L minimum. Can grow anywhere between 12" - 36"
Black ghost knife fish also needs minimum of 400L and can grow to 24"
The red gourami depends on which type it is? whether it is a dwarf gourami or a giant red tailed gourami, if its the latter then this will also get too big.

I'm not sure about the lobster

i had 2 red gouramis (The Neon Red Dwarf Gourami)
2x common plecs
1x red claw crab

and a few others in a 2ft tank and all seemed happy enough before

what would u suggest along those lines ?

i wouldnt recommend a crab as they need low end brackish water and access to land and will eat fish

seems my lfs lies to me then as they said my crab would just need occasional access to water (wich i did for it allthough it just climbed the filter, and the said it would be fine in my tropical tank (wich it was for 6 months or so)

Also a 125L isn't anywhere near big enough for common plecs.

For 2 commons you would need more like a 5 or 6 foot tank, they can both grow to 18" and create HUGE waste

The dwarf gouramis would obviously be fine, I also wouldnt recommend the crab / lobster
