Double the pleasure, double the fun. :D

yes well i have definetly learned my lesson with that! can i put a siamese fighting fish in a tank with two goldfish? i think its about 10 gallons......maybe if its a female it wont be so aggressive
10 gallons is too small for goldfish, maybe one like a black moor, but other wise no other goldfish would be good in that tank, especially 2.

why not get rid of the goldfish, or get them a 20 long, and get 5 female bettas for that tank, females can live together as long as they are in a group, and as long as the tank is 10 gallons plus, but just because you can put them together doesnt mean it will always work, as you may have a winnie or a you know what in the mix.

yes well the goldfish were actually supposed to be temposrary in our big tank, but one of them grew really big (and is still growing) and didnt want to get rid of it so we put it in the smaller tank......

can bettas be comforatbly kept in a fish bowl? i think about 1 gallon -1 1/2 gallon?

yeah, thats a good size for them. I have some bettas in a 1 gallon fish bowl and they are doing great.

well get a small tank like 5 gallons for the betta, simaise fighting fish.

You could get angels, say 4, so that you can get some more large fish for that area. Maybe a gold severum, that may eat the mollies though, and I am not really sure if you want a Cichlid tank. But New World cichlids are fun, and some of them are peaceful for a cichlid.

so say
4 angels
1 severum
4 mollies
7 dojo loaches
1 pleco
12 hatchet fish, some of the smaller ones.

Sorry if I am not of that much help.
I think that a full grown 8" severum would suck up those dojos like spaghetti :p

arent dojo loaches like 9 inches long?

I am not really sure about the mouth size of larger fish, I still find it hard to believe that angel fish eat small tetras, as I have never seen one with a big mouthg before, lol. And I have seen full grown angels, at the lfs.

Severums grow very fast, and would probably reach a large size before the loaches got to 4". Severums have pretty large mouths, and dojos are very slender, IME, not a good combo.

My 6" Purple spotted gudgeon ate a 5" horse faced loach (Tail was spit out), so imagine what a 7" sev could do to a 4" dojo ;)

have you considered using the 100g as a coldwater tank? your goldfish would really thrive in that large environment! keeping them in a 10g is really bad for their health and they'll get much too big to be comfortable in it. remember, the proper lifespan of the common goldfish is over 15 years! large goldfish can be quite intelligent and friendly; most large goldies are also quite beautiful. since most people abuse their goldfish and stunt them, a set of large ones is rather rare and very eye-catching!

dojo loaches are also coldwater fish and a large group would be very happy in the bottom of your tank. the common pleco also does well in room temperature water. there are many interesting fish commonly sold as tropicals that can go into a "cold-water" aquarium. do your goldies a favor and check out the idea!

That sounds like a good idea to me pica. How many people do you think actually have goldfish in a proper sized tank. about 1 in 100,000 You could also save on heating the thing.

or other stuff. like someone said earlier goldfish aren't the only pretty coldwater fish.

Yep, you could have danios, WCMMs (white clouded mountain minnows) or even bronze/albino cories (because they prefer the cooler temp.). You COULD have a common plec, but everybody says that once they get big they will suck on the goldfish's slimcoat. I have one with my goldfish, and this has never happened, but he's still pretty small. You could always re-home it when it gets bigger.
Oh yah, and make sure with the smaller fish, that they can't fit in the goldfish's mouths. Because the goldfish will gulp them up if they can.

Dojo weather loach
Apple snails
Rubbernose pleco
Hillstream loach
Bristle nose pleco
Dwarf otocinclus

are all recomended with the goldfish.

But dont forget that they may eat the ottos when they are bigger, and that may not always be safe, as ottos has pikeys fins.

I kept white cloud minnows with a young, smallish goldfish. Even though the WCMM looked bigger than the goldfish mouth, one got eaten...
I was told by a variety of sources and repeatedly that goldfish are peaceful and good with smaller fish like WCMM... so be warned on that score!
However, I agree that s big tank like that would look fantastic with goldfish and other cold water fish if you wanted them.
