I currently have a cycled 125l tank setup with Dwarf Neon Rainbows and Honey Gourami.

I want to add some bottom feeders at the end of the week and initially had planned on getting Dwarf Chain loaches.

Only problem is that they are quite expensive and my water hardness is at their upper end. Plus I have read that they can pick up diseases pretty easily due to their lack of scales.

This got me thinking about other possibilities but I've hit a bit of a block.

I had thought about some Corys but I have gravel in the tank rather than sand. I was told at my LFS that the gravel I bought there is OK for them but I'm not so sure. It's the small black slightly sparkly stuff you get in a lot of shops.

can anyone suggest what I could add instead? I am still open to the above if folks think they're ok but I wanted to see what everyone think first.

So long as the gravel is not sharp cories would be fine. Just be sure to keep it very clean :)

Are you looking for something like the cories or loaches or could it be any fish that prefers the bottom? I ask because another fish that usually sticks to the bottom are peacock gudgeons.

When I had him, I absolutely positively LOVED my Pleco...he was dwarf so he only grew 4"

I am open to any suggestion really but would like several and don't think I could have many gudgeons in mine? How many could I have in the 125l?

Sorry I should have asked this earlier but what are the dimensions of the tank?

Hate to interrupt but just wondering whats the benefit of having dimensions instead of gallons? lol

Fish need the right amount of swimming space. Some fish are very active and need a lot more space than a more sedate fish of the same size.
