Hi RedTurq,
I'm afraid, as i suspected, your stats aren't great. Ammonia is lethal to fish even in very small quantities. You should perform several 50% water changes now at around 1 hour intervals to reduce ammonia to 0.25 or lower. Then keep the level there with as many water changes as are required to do so.
As Ross says, take the discus back to the shop or re-home him elsewhere as its too big for the tank and discus are very sensitive fish and he wont take kindly to ammonia in the water.
I'm going to guess that the shop told you to fill your tank, wait 1 week, then add some 'hardy fish' which will cycle your tank. Then you bought more fish 1 week later?
Unfortunately your filter is not cycled yet and you are now performing a fish-in cycle.
Do you know anyone who has an established tank? If so, try to get some of their filter media. This will help your cycle immensely. If not, water changes it is i'm afraid, unless you can re-home all the fish and undertake a fishless cycle.
Food for thought!
Cheers
