Need Help With Cycling New Filter?

Okay, so I ordered a 40i Tetra Whisper Internal filter.

It seems okay to put in my tank.

I have a 10-15 filter in there and a 20-40 gal.

The 10-15 is CYCLED the 20-40 is probably newly or just getting completely cycled.

I was told to just "put" the old media from the 10-15 into the new filter to get it to cycle...
Would that be okay? I'm leaving in 6 days to go on vacation for a week (leaving my fish at the hands of an automatic food dispenser. Not the "blocks" but actual thing that spins and releases food)

So please help!!!!!!

Yep transfer the cycled media into the new filter,you may need to keep an eye on the stats for a few days,just in case.

personally i wouldn't use them automatic feeding dispensers,you may end up with more hassles than its worth,unless you know its reliable and wont let to much food in.
The fish will be fine for 6 days with no food unless you have fry.and taking on the air of caution with adding a new filter...
