Need Advice on My Persistant Ich

I'm keeping the temperature up. Last I checked, it was 86 or 88* (can't remember which). Darned ich... And I could have gotten new fishies today, too, if it wasn't for the ich (okay, I could have gotten them anyway, but I didn't really think it was a good idea, badly as I wanted to get 'em)

Does the tank need to be dark while treating for ich? Should it be?

Unfortunately, I don't have $40 to spend on a UV sterilizer I hope your fish don't get ich tomorrow, though

I like the salt suggestion, but I can't really add salt to my tank, as it has loaches and Corys and an Oto. Guess we'll just stick with heat for now...

maybe i suggest and air supply of some sort? at the high temperatures it sucks the oxygen right out of the water, I'm not talking bubbles to shoot them out of the tank just something to get some in there

Good suggestion, Mr. Bones! I do indeed have an airstone in there now, just to stir up the water some Good thing to mention, though, in case someone else reads this thread and decides to turn up their temps - I'd hate to have 'em turn up the temp and not add surface agitation or something

It's now November 18. The Neons had more ich spots today <sigh> The temp has been at a steady 86* for the last few days. I decided to put the Neons into a quarantine tank and treat them with a combination of heat and Malachite Green (just remembered that I could probably add a little salt, too). I realize moving the Neons and treating them isn't going to help the fish in the big tank any. I'm going to keep the temp high in that tank for the next week or so to (hopefully) kill of any ich that may be floating around (whether or not that'll work, I don't know, but I haven't seen symptoms of ich on any fish other than the Neons).

That's the latest...at least with the ich on the Neons.

man i wish that there was a real cure for ich that could use on ANYTHING, like a flu shot for fishtank, makes me want to become some sort of scientist to invent this solution... I HATE ICHHHH bah so mayn peoples fish get it... including my severums
