Hi,can i have the following in a 3ft tank,106l.
3,bronze corries
1 albino ,
5 sterbai,
3 pitbull pleco
4 glowlight tetra ,
4 neon tetra

If so would this be the limit ,or could i have more of each one?
Thanks in advance

Hi I think corys would prefer to be kept in larger groups of 6+ and the tetras need to be kept in larger groups :look: but I may be wrong so best wait for someone else advice im still fairly new to fishkeeping

I would be tempted to get 6 more of each tetra, the corys are ok, you got 9 in total and although they are not the same they will enjoy eachothers company.

I certainly wouldnt consider mixing in more fish, it should be a nice little community you have going there.

That might be a bit crowded... I would bump the number of the neon and glowlights TO 6 (add 2 of each).

BTW, why such varied numbers in the cories? Why not just 9 of one species?

I`ve already got 4 glowlight tetra,2 bronze corries ,1 albino 3 armano shrimp ,and 2 pitbull plecos, but have fell in love with sterbai.

I'd keep the Cory's as they are, and up the Pitbull Pleco's to 4, and the Tetra's up to 6-8.

It's possible that you could trade the bronze and albino for more sterbai cories. Just something to think about. I know that they will group up with other cories, but I think that they prefer to be with their own.

Corys do shoal together across types, but personally I would only have two different types.

I would try and stick to one kind of Cory for ultimate effect. If the Sterbai is your favourite then try and rehome the bronze and albino so you can have 7-8 sterbai. Your tank must be very narrow or shallow for it to be on 106 litres but 3ft long.

My tank is 36 inches x 15 x12,haven`t bought it yet looking for one to go with built in cabinet. Was told by forum that it was 106 l,as looking at one on pets at home website clearsil tank, why do you think it`s bigger or smaller?

Hi Maisy, i was just suprised that it only held 106 litres considering it is 3ft. But seeing as it has quite narrow/shallow dimensions then i guess this is the reason why. Clearseal tanks can notoriously not have alot of litres due to small height and width measurements. I have seen a 4ft tank with around 150 litres.

Yes,i do need a tank with more height to give me more litres,i`m stuck with 36 length by 12 width though!

That 30 gallon tank should be able to hold your suggested stock level but it is far from ideal. It is a small tank for the extra plecos, when pleco males mature they are quite territorial. I would avoid adding any more unless you know you do not have a male. If you only added a couple of glowlight tetras and the sterbai cories, you could probably get 6 of them. By adding enough cories, you would see them more often swimming around the tank actively and would not need to add in the neons to get movement in the middle of the tank.
