Hi all, well, I finally got five minutes to start my nano tank :)

I'm not at home to recieve deliveries through the day :( so had to resort to petsathome.

The little tank is excellent, and for £30 (glass tank, plastic lid, light, filter) I think its a great deal :)

The plants unfortunately, are not in a good state, they were all petsathome had, were a rip off (and I really hope at least some of them grow!).

I've not turned the filter on yet, as there are a couple of bits of bogwood chip to still sink, I ideally want to change it to a HOB filter asap (but cant find anywhere that sells them - that isnt an order online service).

Anyway, what do you guys think so far? I don't know if the little heater works?! because its so hot in my room, it wont need to come on in the day time, we shall see.

Very neat little tank, what make is it? Or is it just P@H? It looks good already :D
What's its volume and whats the wattage on the light? I look forward to seeing what you do with it, looks great so far.

Cheers :)

Its a 17Litre cube, petsathome own, thanks!!

I just hope some of the plants grow!!

Hmmm just tried out the filter, its WAY too strong for that little tank!!

off to the trading section!

Fair enough... any reason why?

its currently covered in airbubbles unfortunately, but is basically a matt black fine gravel, over a planting base....

I would have used sand, but could not find any around here (that was not way more than I needed).

Plus, I think that gravel is a bit of a change from sand..

Hi all, just a quick update. I've started dosing with a generic fertiliser, and have got some results :)

And new leaves on the Anubius too :) (thank you nerite!)

Am thinking now of adding some java moss? tied to more little bits of bogwood? what do you think?

I've got one of these too mate, got it from my G/F for my birthday, got a light substrate around 3 plants, 2 moss balls and a small clump of Java moss, tanks only enhabitants currently are 2 Endler guppies and some cherry shrimp, great value for money but I personally feel the filter is far too strong for the tank, I've slowed the flow down slightly with a small piece of filter sponge wedged into the outlet :)

I think you tank is fine as it is, I like it. Of course though, if you're adding shrimp, then I would add some moss balls.

@ Kev_A - cheers :D yep I found it WAY too strong! replaced it with the Eheim HOB, fits exactly in place! :)

@ BethK - I am getting rather tempted by shrimp (am loving the midged/dwarf green shrimp) - but have yet to find them from an actual store around here, and am a little reluctant to purchase them 'on-line' (especially as I want 4 at most!).

Trying to now decide between pigmy cories, galaxy rasborah or similar....

I would love a dwarf puffer, but fear he would tear my zebra nerite a new one...

I always avoid P@H, but having seen this little tanki may be tempted to pop in a buy one :) Thats a fantastic little tank, especially for £30! May take your advice on changing to Eheim HOB though.
