Mystery Plants

Where do you get all your info on plants?

Can anyone tell what the other plant is?

Yeha it does have tiny bits of red on it and thanks aaron

Java moss, java fern, Anubias nana and many Crptocorynes are recommended for low light situations. That does not mean that they need low light but just that they will survive and grow in low light. Java moss and java ferns have a home in many of my tanks. Some of the tanks are low tech, low light tanks. Others are medium light, pressurized CO2, artificial fertilizer tanks. The java ferns and java moss grow faster in higher light but do fine in the low light also, I would class them as versatile plants. They will grow for you whatever situation you have. I think you could actually grow java moss with just room lights. I have a few scraps that got into an unlighted tank along with decor that I was moving and it is alive after 2 months now. Since the tank has not been cycled yet, the lights are not even plugged in on that tank. Who needs the algae with no fish or plants?

Ok so if a website says that the plant likes low light and you give them medium light then which will grow better?

No, you pull them out of the pots carefully stem by stem and plant them in the substrate or attach them to rock/wood if it's java fern or anubias.

If you wanted to plant them in puts, you can use garden pots and put soil in them, then cover with an inch or two of gravel/sand to stop the soil growing everywhere.

On the second image theres a gooy substrate in the pot would you keep that?

So i should throw everything away but the plants.

Do i do anything else with the plants?

Ok and i read this on another site that for cabonba carolinian to grow best you should tie it down into a filter sponge.
