A few weeks ago I moved a mystery/apple snail to my 40g tank from a 3g QT.  He seems happy and healthy but I'm wondering if he's getting enough to eat. While he was in the 3g I saw him eat an algae wafer and blood worms that I fed to the 3 cories that were quarantined with him.  The 40g has a large piece of driftwood that has/had algae growing on it. When I feed he is either sleeping or somewhere else in the tank.

The tank has 6 cories and 4 Buenos Aires tetras,  I usually feed a few shrimp pellets, a few small pieces of algae wafers and veggie crisps in the morning and some bloodworms in the evening. So should I put in a piece of zucchini or something else for him? I'm not sure if he's getting to the food in the morning.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

They like zucchini so that would be great. I'm not sure how recommended this would be but if I can I pick mine up and put them on top of the food. You want to be gentle though and they can hold on pretty tightly.

I have had luck with using a veggie peeler and peeling a slice or two of carrots, and broccoli stems. (I have mollies in the tank and they also love the zucchini so sometimes the snails have to compete for it!)

Thanks for the suggestions. After I posted my message the snail was cruising along the bottom of the tank so I placed a piece of wafer in front of him. He worked on it for 15 minutes or so. I didn't think to just place him on the zucchini. I'll try that next.
