Ok, I found a free 100 gallon. I put some plant substrate I got from someone. I finished pouring water in it today, and found these things squirming around in it!

To me it looks like detritus worms because of how thin they look.

edit -
when I set up my last tank I occasionally saw them swimming around until fish were added.

Alright, thanks!
Are they one of the good bugs or bad ones?

I've never had any issues with them. I believe their numbers can be dwindled by reducing feeding amounts and having thinner substrates

They're a sign of overfeeding.
They won't harm your fish. They're in nore danger of being eaten by your fish.

No fish in the aquarium yet. Just finished pouring in the water today. :dunno:
