My Wife Was Sick - So I Got Lucky!

My wife was referred to a specialist in a neighbouring town by our local GP so I took her there... (about 100km away)

I've never been to this town, so I drove around a little after dropping her of for the check-up and.... I stumbled across a pet store... never knew there was one so close to me.

I bought the following fish:

5 x Spanner Barbs (Many years since I've seen those - used to breed them in abundance)
10 x Rosy Barbs
10 x Zebra Danio
5 x Red Chromides (also bred them very long tome ago - and one of my favourite fish).
2 x Bronze Corys (the only 2 they had)
2 x Chinese Algea eaters (to put into my baby Killifish tank to clear up the uneaten food)
3 x Golden Apple Snails (Only 3 they had - which looked like they were still breathing)

I also got a 4ft aquarium light and 5kg flake foods.

They havent got a great variety of fish, but plenty of what the have. - also very lacking in knowledge, but a nice find.....

Oh!... and my wife... yea... she'll be fine... nothing serious.

Haha, not something you hear everyday. My local LFS is a couple of miles away.
I'm guessing fish aren't that popular in south africa?

At least the journey was worth while though

wow nice 2 finds on the chromides and barbs, never heard of em, look pretty interesting though

These are the Spanner Barbs and in the background some Red Chromides.... The spanner barbs grows to almost 7 inches... (and are - reasonably - peacefull
