Hi

My filter went down about 3 week ago and I had to transfer most of my media over to a new ehiem filter as I was going to run the two together but one sprung a leak moving it!

Anyways about 3 days after a water change my water turns into a yellow tinge and is cloudy water stats show up fine using my API test kitn I dont know if seachem prime is giving me false reading though!

Anything I could do my plants are starting to get coverd in yellowish goo aswell!

Is the tank in direct sunlight? Or even near a window? I have had this problem in the past and even though my 3ft was not in direct sunlight i found the amount of light hitting the tank caused algea growth and the water to discolour...hence we moved the tank...

Or possibly when moving things around you stirred up lots of fish matter and it just needs to settle again.

I could only suggest 25% change and keep lighting to a minimun as algea blooms love light. Scrub any ornaments or rocks in there if its bad. If you decide to chem treat be extremly carefull what you use as a lot of the chem algea treatments are harmfull to fish...

I just persevered and after a few weekly changes it went back to normal colour.

All though now i have bogwood in it so its always got a slight yellow tinge.

What stock do you have in there or is it just plants? has the filter been running long?
