he is still in the qt tank at the minute with a few platys to keep the bacteria levels up as im expecting new fish soon. but he is doing fine thanks. very skittish though!

he should settle down as he grows - is there any overhead cover in that tank? he'd appreciate some if not.

no its just a bare tank with 2 tree root ornaments, he spends most of his time inside one of them..... what would you suggest?

If you can add something floating and/or a couple of plastic plants - should make him a bit more secure

only gripe i have is that the background is to light blue, i think with a darker background it would bring the color out of your fish and plants better...
