My Riffle Shrimp And Tanks!

Female rams have blue specs in their black spot and can have pink bellies if they're gravid. Males have a very tall 2nd point on their dorsal fin I think.... I had rams for a short time but didn't have them long enough to learn much about them.

Ditto what diddles said. That's right i think. And i think it is normal for them to chill out on the substrate occassuonally. As long as there not stuck there permanently..

Thanks guys! I'm really loving my new friends.
Last night they came to rest side by side. So cute.
They ate this morning. The male got a couple pellets and the female ate some sand... Yummy.

They exhibit pairing behavior about 40-60% of the time but other time they just go on their own ventures lol.

If you ever go in chat room you probably know about my leg. It's broke so all my tanks haven't had maintenance for about 3-4weeks. I went up To see them today. It was horrible. I've had friends feeding them but they've done no fertilizing or water changes I'm guessing their light has been irregular too. There's poo everywhere. I had to chop up some of my plants and I totally ripped out the lilies. The rams have lost lots of color. Very sad Tree.
I hope they are ok. When I get my legs back I'm going to fix it. It's going to be great I promise. No pics as I'm ashamed at the sight of it.
The shrimp look ok.
The worst part is that my favorite fish dubbed tiny Tim because he swum with a bit of a limp, has moved on. We never found the body.

Sorry to hear of your tank troubles.

Will be a few weeks yet at least before you're up and running again. Might be worth asking your wife or a good mate to help out with water changes and anything else you're unable to do on own with tanks.

The female ram has died.
Me and the male are heartbroken, his colors have deteriorated. I made a big mess of the tank finding her and then cleaned it. Poor baby.
I kind of cheated with the waterchanges as I just put the siphon out the window and brought the hose inside into the second storey window.

So sorry to hear that! I hope the male cheers up. Do you think once you've got everything going well again (hope your leg heals quickly btw) that you'll get another female for him?
