My rainbow shark isn't eating anything..!!

I bought him 3days ago..still he isn't eating anything...and hiding behind an ornament in my aquarium.. What should i do!

whats your water parameters, temperature, kh/gh, and how long have you had the tank and how big is it

What are your water parameters right now?
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
What is the water temp
What sort of filter do you have
Any live plants
Is the tank cycled
What are you feeding them
How often do you change water.
How big is the tank

The more information you can provide the better we can assist you.

Also a photo of the tank would help.

Also remember new fish can take time to settle in, the stress of being netted put in a bag transported and put in a new tank can frighten a fish.

To summarize, if the water quality is bad then he will feel sick and not want to eat. If his tank mates are aggressive and bullying him, another reason to not want to come out of hiding to eat. Some times new fish already have internal parasites, making them look thin and they will spit food back out. A medication is need to cure that.

So then, as the other two said, what's your parameters? Please give us the low down on the history of the tank
What have you been trying to get him to eat? He just might not like the food but who knows.
