I have a 750L tank which is 6 x 2 x 2 and im looking to buy the best pump i can i can came across a 6800Lah pump but just wondering if it will be to powerful for my tank ??I would like to move has much water has i can. I have 2 huge bulkhead holes so getting water down to my sump is not a problem.Just thought id ask if a 6800lah pump would be to powerful ?

Some fish really like raging river environments like the Hillstream Loach while other long finned fish such as gourami's and bettas prefer minimal water movement.

What were you planning on putting in there?

I have fish all ready in a 4ft tank which im planing on moving into the 6ft. I bought 3 albino pleco's and 3 silver sharks and a ram.  I got the 6ft because i new that the silver sharks and albino plecs would have a better live in the 6ft tank. But i know that the pleco's poo a lot so want to try and filter has much water has i can.

You have to take the pump head and resistance from the pipework into account. You're unlikely to see your 6800 lph in reality.

I have a 3500lph and a 1000lph running on a 3x2x1.5 and it's not crazy flow, you'll be fine. You may end up wanting more.

I'm sure it'll be fine as long as your fish aren't blown out the other end of the tank :p Might just have to suck it and see once it's set up? I have a Fluval FX6 on a 200L which is major overkill in numbers on the side of the box, but in reality, with the heads pointed in a sensible direction it's perfectly fine.
