Hi all

This is my first tank that I have setup without my parents since moving into my own house.

Could you please comment, so far there are 3 live plants at back left, two artificial stones on the left, 2 plastic plants, and two dark stones on the right.

I am thinking of replacing the 2 dark stones with some others to make it more cave like, whilst also adding some small plants to this area as well.

Thanks, any advice or comments would be very welcome.

it looks quite nice :)

what about replacing the plastic plants with natural ones? and maybe give a better position to the heater, somehow paralel with the filter (as it is now it's neither vertical or horisontal and jumped into my eyes)

i like aquariums to be as natural as possible, that's why i recommend those...

many people like aquariums as natural as possible, but some ceramics make the aquarium look even more natural in a sense. The black ceramic house among green looks like a japanese forest to me in my tank

I actually like the dark stones more than your light stones though. They're lovely, where as the light stones contrast in a bad way IMO.

Thanks everyone

I will probably turn the heater so if it next to the filter, i just thought it would heat the tank more evenly if I placed it horizontally???

The light stones are actually a lot darker than they eem in the picture I think my camera had the wrong settings.

I am thinking of adding a lot more planted areas to.

Thanks for all the advice, very constructive and helpful so far!

i've always put my heater's diagonally, if you put it vertically the heat won't be distributed as evenly.... well that's what i've always been told anyway.

I think it'll look a bit more natural once there's a bit of algae on the rocks and stuff, it just looks a bit 'new' at the moment if that makes sense. I always think things look better when they're a little worn in.

I'd also take out the plastic plants and replace them with more natural ones.

:D

All of the plants on the left are live.... just the one plastic one now on the right which I am looking to replace pretty soon.

May also slip in 2 small pieces of bogwood as I would like some places for 2 plecs to hide away. And maybe a small tube.

Does anyone have any plant recommendations?

Thanks
