My New Platies :)

Not had Platies before so thought I would give them a try

Thanks everyone, they love each other and swim together alot, I can feel the patter of tiny fins soon lol, I have called the male bumblebee seeing as he is yellow,black and red and the female Edith lol don't ask me why it was the first name that came to my head when I saw her!

Nice platies. I like the blue one a lot, I'd like one myself but I have actually never seen a blue platy in any of the lfs near me.

Beautiful colours!  Those two should produce some, er, interesting babies!
 
What size tank are they in?  Ideally there should be another couple of females so that Edith can have a bit of a break from Bumblebee's attention!

Thanks all they are in a heavily planted 80L with 3 dwarf gouramis, this morning I have removed the female to a heavily planted 20L as she looks like she is going to pop any day now and I want to save some fry, I doubt bumblebee is the dad of the fry about to be born as they were all mixed when I picked them at the lfs, he has been very gentle to Edith and is hardly bothering her, he follows her closely at times but doesn't chase or hound if anything she chases him! Hopefully will have a couple more females to join them soon

Hi, yes I can get some tomorrow if she is still pregnant

  bearing in mind the first pics were nearly two weeks ago now, I think they are pregnant for around 4 weeks or so before giving birth and I'm not sure how many weeks pregnant she was when I first got her so it could be any day now, will keep you posted on the baby front
